The tech industry’s movers and shakers have been saying for months now that the HTML5 is very important. New data released Friday indicates that HTML5 is not just going to be big, it’s going to be huge — and it’s coming fast.
Millennial Media has released its monthly report on the smartphone market, and, as expected, the market has continued to grow as a whole. What might be less expected is which platforms ended up gaining the most relative growth.

The study polled 5,000 consumers and 2,250 employees and IT decision-makers across five European countries: France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the U.K.
According to the study, Android-based devices come in second (19 percent), followed by BlackBerry (17 percent) and Nokia (15 percent). Keep in mind that Android devices number well over 100 from a variety of different handset makers.
